Meet Cheryl
Cheryl Murman started yoga in high school in the late 1970s, and rediscovered its healing power while recovering from a serious illness in her twenties. She has taught movement since the mid-1980s, tens of thousands of hours of it.
In 2014 she opened The Chattanooga Yoga Center because she envisioned a different kind of studio: not a multi-style class factory, but an intimate setting to explore how yoga, movement and breath can help you live healthier, to heal, and be free from pain.

A 30-minute mat Pilates class for postural alignment, core strength and stability, and full-body flexibility. Donation based.

A 30-minute, cardio-based kettlebell class to strengthen and tone the entire body. Donation based.

Beginner-friendly, 30-minute weight training built for active women, in a room with zero intimidation. Donation based.

Good questions to ask first
Yes, your very first class is always free, with no experience and no commitment required. It's the easiest possible way to see if the studio is right for you. Just reserve a spot and come as you are.
Not here. This is a small, intimate studio with a safe, sane and subtle approach, and every class is taught personally by Cheryl. Gentle Empowering Yoga in particular is built for beginners and for anyone easing back into movement.
Comfortable clothes you can move in, and a mat if you have one, we keep mats and props on hand if you don't. Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in and meet Cheryl.
A few classes, Women & Weights, Kettle Bell Fun and Classic Mat Pilates, are offered on a donation basis. You give what feels right, so the practice stays accessible to everyone.
Yes. Gentle Empowering Yoga, Gentle Energizing Yoga and Classic Mat Pilates are all available in studio or live on Zoom, same class, same Cheryl, from your living room.
Private Yoga is one-on-one and personalized ($130 for 90 minutes, with bundles available). Reiki Healing supports body, mind and spirit ($50 a session, or $155 for four). Reach out and Cheryl will help you find the right fit.
We're at 6857 Mountain View Rd in Ooltewah, on the Fit One campus, just east of Chattanooga, with free parking right out front.
